The Project Manager / Scrum Master is a dual-function leadership role at the heart of software product implementation engagements. This individual serves as the operational backbone of delivery — orchestrating Agile ceremonies, maintaining rigorous project tracking, and acting as the primary bridge between internal delivery teams and client stakeholders. Reporting to the Program Lead or Account Executive, this role demands a practitioner who is equally comfortable facilitating a sprint retrospective, drafting a client-facing status report, and holding a team accountable to committed deliverables — all within the same day.
Responsibilities:
Agile Delivery& Scrum Leadership
• Plan, facilitate, andcontinuously improve all Scrum ceremonies — sprint planning, daily stand-ups,sprint reviews, and retrospectives
• Maintain and groom the productbacklog in close collaboration with the Product Owner and technical leads
• Remove impediments, shield theteam from scope disruptions, and create conditions for a high-performingdelivery environment
• Coach team members on Agileprinciples and foster a culture of continuous improvement
ProjectPlanning & Execution
• Own and maintain a detailed,line-level project plan across all workstreams — tracking tasks, milestones,dependencies, and critical path items
• Monitor sprint velocity,identify trends, and proactively flag risks and schedule impacts to the ProgramLead
• Track resource utilizationacross team members, flagging over-allocation or capacity gaps in advance
• Ensure delivery artifacts(designs, configurations, test plans, cutover checklists) are completed on timeand meet quality standards
Reporting& Stakeholder Communication
• Produce clear, concise, andaccurate status reports on a regular cadence (weekly / bi-weekly) for bothinternal and external audiences
• Serve as the primary point ofcontact for the client on day-to-day project matters — providing timely,professional updates on progress, risks, and decisions
• Escalate appropriately to theProgram Lead / Account Executive, ensuring no surprises in either direction
• Prepare meeting agendas,document decisions and action items, and track follow-through to closure
Team &Relationship Management
• Build strong workingrelationships with cross-functional team members including business analysts,developers, QA, and solution architects
• Foster psychological safetywithin the team, encouraging open communication and collaborativeproblem-solving
• Partner with the Program Leadto align project delivery with broader account goals and client success metrics
Required
• 3–6 years of project managementexperience in software product implementations or technology deliveryenvironments
• Hands-on experience runningScrum ceremonies and working within Agile/Scrum frameworks
• Demonstrated ability to managedetailed, line-level project plans and track multi-workstream programs
• Experience interfacing directlywith external clients and delivering professional status communications
• Proficiency with projectmanagement tools (e.g., Jira, Azure DevOps, MS Project, Smartsheet, orequivalent)
Preferred
• CSM (Certified Scrum Master),PMP, or equivalent certification
• Experience in healthcare IT, payer/provider systems, or enterprise SaaS implementations
• Familiarity with SDLC, release management, and UAT processes
• Experience supporting sales or delivery through client-facing account management activities
